Philanthropy
Aside from active involvement in various campus and community activities, Kappa Phi Gamma is dedicated to enlighten and educate the public about its national philanthropy: cancer awareness. Every academic year during the month of April, National Cancer Awareness Month, each chapter and colony of Kappa Phi Gamma proudly hosts a C.A.R.E (Cancer Awareness - a Real Effort) Week. C.A.R.E Week is a truly unique and yet comprehensive initiative to raise money for different methods of increasing public awareness about early detection and prevention of cancer and donating money to patients and local organization in need of financial support. Events that have been held in the past years at Theta include:
Kick Off - RallyRelay for Life
Cervical, Ovarian, and Testicular Cancer Forums
Breast Cancer Forum
Skin Cancer Forum
Candlelight Vigil
Sweet Words for Sweet Tooth
Raffle Tickets
We would like to thank our corporate sponsors in Richmond for making these events possible. Kappa Phi Gamma on a national level has raised and donated over $64,000. We hope you will join Kappa Phi Gamma in the fight against cancer. No deed is too big or too small, and all are appreciated. Whether you can contribute monetarily or lend a helping hand, there is always someone in need. If you would like to support our cause or are interested in further ways to get involved, please feel free to contact us at [email protected].
